Our guests access Confederation Lake at the South Bay Outpost landing, 15km (10miles) north of Woman River Camp just off South Bay Road. A drive-to portage where you literally back up to the boat and load your gear. Confederation Lake is a big body of water, approximately 27km (17miles) long and 10km (6miles) wide, covering an area over 14,000 acres. The good thing is you don’t have to go far to find great fishing. One of best Lake Trout lakes in all of Ontario!
Monster Northern Pike and Lake Trout thrive in this cold deep water lake. The fish are big and healthy. Lots of Trophy Northern Pike and the schools of Lake Trout are amazing.
Two 16ft boats with 20hp motors are available to use. This portage lake is only available when the boats are not being used by guests of South Bay Outpost. To ensure a chance to fish Confederation, you can book a Wilderness Adventure to the lake.
Possession limits are in accordance to your Ontario fishing license and Woman River Camp’s Conservation Policy – mandatory catch and release of all Northern Pike over 27” and all Lake Trout over 25”
